University of Science and Technology signs memorandum of cooperation with Aden Islamic Bank

The Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Abdulghani Hamid Ahmed, and the CEO of Aden Islamic Microfinance Bank, Professor Fikri Al-Ajil, signed a memorandum of cooperation between the university and the bank on Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024, at the university building in its main center in Aden. The memorandum was signed based on the desire of the university and the bank to consolidate the foundations of joint cooperation between them. The memorandum contained a number of articles that focused on each party of the agreement providing a set of services and facilities to the other party, in addition to articles that focused on activating a number of aspects of joint cooperation between the two parties. The memorandum included provisions allowing bank employees and their children to enroll in all available undergraduate programs across all disciplines, as needed by the bank. It also stipulated that bank employees and their children sponsored by the university would receive a discount on tuition fees for all undergraduate programs. On the other hand, the memorandum included provisions for the bank to provide field training opportunities for university students, the bank to contribute to supporting and funding scientific research, conferences, forums and seminars held by the university, the university to provide the bank with consultants from its staff, the bank to participate in attending development workshops for academic scientific programs according to specialization, and the two parties to participate in implementing joint community activities. It was also agreed that the university would provide the bank with lists of top students in relevant disciplines, and that they would have priority in employment, according to the procedures followed in the bank. The two parties also agreed to form a joint committee from the university and the bank to facilitate the implementation of this memorandum, and to publish each party's logo on its official website among the partners. The meeting and signing of the memorandum were attended on behalf of the University of Science and Technology by the university's Secretary General, Professor Mohammed Al-Aghbari.
