The University of Science and Technology – Yemen maintains its leading position by entering the QS ranking for 2026

In a new achievement that confirms its academic and research excellence, the University of Science and Technology - Yemen (main center Aden and its branches) has achieved a qualitative achievement by entering the QS World University Rankings for 2026, for the sixth year in a row, to prove its position as the first private university in Yemen, and one of the most prominent higher education institutions in the Arab region. This ranking is one of the highest global university rankings that relies on precise criteria to measure the quality of education and scientific research, academic reputation, graduate employment opportunities, and international cooperation. The university’s continued inclusion in it reflects its commitment to standards of academic excellence and overall quality, and its endeavor to enhance its presence on the regional and international academic map. Significant leaps in performance indicators This year, the university recorded remarkable progress in a number of academic and research performance indicators compared to the previous year, most notably: Research quality (Citations per Paper): The index jumped from 46.3 to 89.0 points, with the university achieving the 27th rank in the Arab world, which is one of the best research performance indicators in the region. International Research Network: It rose from 9.0 to 34.9 points, achieving a ranking of 168 in the Arab world, reflecting the expansion of the university’s international research cooperation. The percentage of international faculty members has risen to 5.2 points, confirming the university's openness to global academic talent. The ratio of academic staff to students has improved from 1.4 to 1.9 points, indicating an enhancement in the quality of education and academic services provided to students. Professor Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, President of the University, confirmed that this achievement is the fruit of integrated efforts made by all members of the university, including academics, researchers and students, saying: “We are proud that we carry the name of Yemen in the lists of Arab academic excellence, and what has been achieved this year represents the culmination of a journey of serious institutional work and commitment to quality standards and applied research.” He added that the university is moving forward confidently in implementing its strategic plan towards leadership and innovation, through developing academic programs, strengthening international partnerships, and attracting distinguished talents and researchers. With this achievement, the University of Science and Technology continues to consolidate its position at the forefront of Arab universities in terms of the quality of research and international cooperation, and confirms its ability to compete regionally despite local challenges, remaining a shining beacon in Yemeni higher education and a national model of excellence and academic sustainability. #University_of_Science_and_Technology
