First Scientific and Technological Day for Cosmetic Dentistry

University of Science and Technology - Aden organizes the “First Scientific and Technological Day for Cosmetic Dentistry” event On Thursday, October 16, 2025, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Science and Technology – Main Center Aden organized the “First Scientific and Technological Day for Cosmetic Dentistry” event, with the participation of a select group of professors and experts in the field of cosmetic dentistry and advanced dental treatments, and sponsored by Al-Alamiah Dent, Smart Dent, and Tokuyama. The scientific day's activities took place from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and included a number of scientific lectures. The event program began with verses from the Holy Quran recited by Professor Muhammad Al-Habishi, followed by the presentation of the university's official anthem. Then, Professor Osama Al-Barkani delivered a speech on behalf of the organizing committee, in which he welcomed the guests and reviewed the event's objectives and segments. Prior to that, the official opening of the Scientific Day took place with a guiding speech delivered by Professor Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, Acting President of the University, followed by a speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Fahmi Al-Aghbari, in which he emphasized the importance of scientific activity and the role of the college in supporting staff, then a speech by the Head of the Department of Dentistry, Dr. Omar Rajih, in which he addressed the department’s efforts in developing the clinical and research aspects. The lecturers, guests of honor, and supporting sponsors were also honored by the university administration, represented by: Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, Dr. Fatima Qahtan, Dr. Fahmi Al-Aghbari, Dr. Omar Rajih, Dr. Fatima Al-Kabab, and Dr. Hisham Aqlan. Following the official opening, the scientific lectures in the field of cosmetic dentistry commenced, presented by a group of doctors and specialists, namely: Prof. Dr. Wadhah Al-Hajj, Prof. Dr. Nabil Al-Noud, Dr. Muhammad Al-Dawla, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Sururi, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Muflihi, Prof. Dr. Shaima Muhammad Al-Rahoumi, Khuloud Al-Sulaihi, Dr. Islam Al-Saqqaf, Dr. Muhammad Al-Junaidi, Dr. Saleh Al-Jumali, Dr. Arwa Al-Humaikani, Dr. Muhammad Al-Attas, and Dr. Rami Shehab. The scientific day witnessed great interaction from the attendees through discussions and asking questions, in addition to distributing valuable prizes to the participants who answered the questions posed after each lecture. The event included an inspiring segment entitled: “A Young Doctor’s Journey”, during which success stories of young doctors and their first experiences in clinical practice were presented, with the aim of encouraging them to be creative and participate in future scientific activities.
