calendar_today November 07, 2025
Exhibition of Biomedical Engineering Student Projects – Level 3 The Biomedical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Computers at the University of Science and Technology - Aden Main Center organized a mini exhibition of a group of practical projects for third-level students in the department, within the Biomedical Electronics course, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Nasr Al-Awdi, and faculty member in the department, Professor Ammar Kurd. A special session was organized for the students to present and discuss these projects, in the presence of: Dr. Munir Al-Abadi, Assistant President of the University for Student Affairs, Community Centers and Branches, Dr. Muammar Al-Qutaibi, Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nasr Al-Saqqaf, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computers, Dr. Nasr Al-Awdi, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Dr. Adel Al-Qashbari, a member of the Department Council. The students participating in the session presented their projects, which included: creating a set of electronic designs composed of simple electronic components to extract various vital signs related to the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as capturing the electrical signals of the eye. Processing these signals allows for the control of a wheelchair for people with disabilities and the ability to write text by blinking. Other projects included designing an incubator that provides a suitable environment for premature infants with appropriate temperature and humidity, and a sensor system to detect obstacles for blind people and provide them with timely warnings, among other projects. The session witnessed active participation in the discussions by the participating and attending students, as the students demonstrated a distinguished level that reflects their high capabilities and their ability to transform theoretical scientific knowledge into successful real practical projects. These projects were well received by those present, who praised the outstanding performance of the students and noted the scientific importance of such projects, which are on par with peer-reviewed scientific research. #University_of_Science_and_Technology
