World Mental Health Day

The Student Affairs Department and the Department of Human Medicine are organizing an event for “World Mental Health Day”.
The Student Affairs Department (Student Guidance, Psychological Support and Health Unit) at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden, in cooperation with the Department of Human Medicine, organized the “World Mental Health Day” event.
The event witnessed a distinguished attendance and broad participation from various parties, and its segments varied to include psychological, cultural, academic, and humanitarian aspects.
The event included a scientific debate entitled: “Is resorting to psychological support a weakness or courage?” It was conducted by students of the Department of Human Medicine, under the supervision of: Dr. Aisha Mohammed Saif and Dr. Radwan Al-Nissi, and was evaluated by a judging committee consisting of: Dr. Munir Al-Abadi, Dr. Muammar Al-Qutaibi, Dr. Fahmi Al-Aghbari, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shumairi, Dr. Amira Al-Humaidi, and Dr. Ramzi Al-Humaidi.
The “Awareness Exhibition” was also held, supervised by: Ms. Saeeda Khaled Marzouq – a specialist in student guidance and psychological support, with the participation of students from the Department of Human Medicine from all levels. It addressed awareness of mental illnesses, the importance of the biological clock, and how to start the day in a healthy way, in addition to interactive activities to promote communication and participation.
The event included the presence of Ms. Abeer Mounis Ahmed, representative of the Women’s Charitable Foundation/Association for Combating Poverty, who presented an awareness lecture entitled: “The Importance of Mental Health and Combating Stigma.” Also present was Ms. Sahar Abdullah Ali Ghazi, representative of the Ministry of Justice – Director of the Child and Minors’ Funds Department, who spoke about positive adaptation and time management.
