The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research honors the University of Science and Technology – Aden for topping the national ranking of Yemeni universities for the year 2024.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research honored the University of Science and Technology - Aden for achieving first place in the national ranking of Yemeni universities in its first session in 2024 AD. The university’s honoring shield was received by the Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fatima Qahtan. This honor came during an official ceremony held by the Ministry in the capital, Aden, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, to honor the universities participating in the National Ranking of Yemeni Universities - First Round 2024, under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Salem Saleh Bin Brik, Prime Minister - Chairman of the Supreme Council for Higher Education, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Al-Wasabi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the results of the first edition of the National Ranking of Yemeni Universities 2024 at a press conference it organized last March, where the University of Science and Technology - Aden topped this ranking, which was launched by the Ministry with the aim of enhancing competitiveness among universities and encouraging universities to improve the quality of education and scientific research. The University of Science and Technology – Aden achieved the highest score among all Yemeni universities in the ranking criteria, which include: education and learning, scientific research and publication, internationalization, graduates, and community relations. This recognition confirms the merit of the University of Science and Technology - Aden in leading higher education in Yemen, and represents a culmination of the university’s distinguished journey in contributing to national development. It is worth mentioning that the University of Science and Technology - Aden has achieved first and advanced positions in a number of local, Arab and international rankings, which is a well-deserved testament to its academic excellence and superiority in the fields of scientific research and community service. Among the most prominent of these rankings: The university achieved first place at the level of Yemen in the QS World University Rankings for 2025, first place among private universities in the Webometrics World University Rankings - first half edition of 2025, and twenty-fifth place in the Arab world in the Arab University Rankings for 2024.
