calendar_today November 07, 2025
In conjunction with International Workers' Day, the University of Science and Technology organized a unique humanitarian initiative to honor cleaning staff and security guards. The initiative, implemented by the "Influencers" club and sponsored by the university and supervised by the Student Affairs Unit, aimed to express appreciation and gratitude to this important group and to encourage them to continue their dedicated service in maintaining a clean and safe university environment. The initiative received a wide positive response and approval from the university administration, as Dr. Alawi Saqqaf Al-Aidaroos, the director of the university branch, expressed his pride and appreciation for this generous gesture, stressing the university’s continued support for initiatives that embody human values and promote a spirit of social responsibility in the students. For his part, Dr. Murad Bahadi, the branch’s deputy director, appreciated this initiative, noting that the cleaning and security workers are the “unsung heroes” who work silently and deserve all the appreciation for their efforts, which are often out of the spotlight. At the conclusion of the event, Salem bin Smeda, President of the “Influencers” Club, expressed his happiness at the success of the initiative, saying: “Honoring this group is the least we can offer them, and we hope that this initiative will leave a positive mark on their hearts and be a moral incentive for them to continue giving.” This initiative comes as part of the university’s direction to establish a culture of giving and mutual respect, and to promote teamwork within the university community.
