University of Science and Technology – Aden celebrates International English Language Day

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the English Language Department (Translation) at the Faculty of Administrative and Human Sciences at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden organized a scientific event to celebrate the International Day of the English Language, which falls on the twenty-third of April every year. At the beginning of the event, Professor Mansour Al-Zakari, Head of the English Language Department (Translation), welcomed the attendees, congratulating everyone working in the field of English on this day. Following that, Dr. Muammar Al-Qutaibi, Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs, delivered a speech in which he reviewed the importance of learning the English language, stressing the need for specialists in the field of language to keep pace with technological developments in the modern era. He also touched on the job opportunities available to English language graduates, where they can work for organizations, institutions and companies at the local and international levels. Afterwards, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Human Sciences (formerly), Dr. Mahmoud Abdo Thabet, delivered a speech in which he explained the vital role that the English language plays, especially in the era of globalization in which we live. The event included several enjoyable segments and presentations by students from the English Language Department (Translation), which were well-received by the attendees. The event concluded with the honoring of the representatives of the four levels, as well as the honoring of the students participating in the scientific activities of the English Language Department (Translation), and the winners of the second stage of the major scientific competition organized by the university.
