Conclusion of the 2025–2026 New Faculty Orientation Program

The Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance at the University of Science and Technology - Main Center Aden concluded today, Sunday, October 5, 2025, the program to prepare new faculty members for the academic year 2025-2026, which lasted for two days, Saturday and Sunday (October 4-5, 2025). The program targeted newly joined faculty members at the university, with the aim of introducing them to the university’s vision, mission, academic and administrative systems and regulations, and enabling them to integrate into the university environment and contribute to achieving its strategic goals. At the opening of the program, Dr. Fatima Qahtan – Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs – welcomed the participants, stressing the importance of the program in preparing and supporting faculty members to perform their academic and research roles efficiently, and enhancing their contribution to the development of the educational process at the university. The first day of the program included an introduction to the university, its history, vision and mission, presented by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hafizi, followed by a presentation from the Human Resources Department about the services and benefits that the university provides to employees, and a review of the electronic employee portal and its usage mechanisms. Dr. Bashir Al-Hammadi, Dean of the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, discussed the duties and responsibilities of faculty members in the educational process, while Dr. Samah Al-Amri presented on academic advising and the role of faculty members in supporting students. The first day concluded with a presentation on electronic systems for academic preparation and educational processes, delivered by Dr. Nasr Al-Saqqaf, Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. As for the second day, it began with a presentation by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rumaima – Dean of the Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance – on an introduction to academic quality, starting from the program description to the course report and its implementation mechanisms, in order to ensure continuous development and improvement. This was followed by a presentation on the standards for evaluating academic performance and evaluating faculty members, presented by Ms. Nawara Hussein – Head of Measurement and Evaluation. In the scientific research section, Dr. Fares Muthanna – Head of the Scientific Research Department – ​​gave a presentation on the role of faculty members in developing scientific research, and the importance of activating it in supporting the academic process and solving societal problems. The program concluded with Ms. Sumaya Al-Badani giving a presentation on the scientific journals issued by the university. The program was attended by deans of colleges, heads of academic departments, and quality officials at the university. #University_of_Science_and_Technology
