University of Science and Technology organizes a workshop on enhancing job opportunities for Yemeni youth in the digital age

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the University of Science and Technology – Main Center Aden, in cooperation with Yemen Information Center, organized a workshop entitled: “Enhancing Job Opportunities for Yemeni Youth in the Digital Age: Challenges and Solutions.” The workshop began with welcoming the participants, followed by opening remarks from Professor Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, Acting President of the University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Shaima Huwaider, Director of Yemen Information Center and Deputy Director of the Alti Institute for Languages, Training, and Rehabilitation – Aden. Both speakers welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such workshops, particularly given the difficult circumstances currently facing Yemeni youth, and the potential for them to leverage global technological advancements to create job opportunities. They also underscored the strong relationship between the University of Science and Technology and Yemen Information Center. Following this, a presentation was given on the activities of the Yemen Information Center and the Al-Tee Institute for Languages, Training and Rehabilitation – Aden. The presentation was given by Dr. Shaima Huwaider and Ms. Alia. During the workshop, Dr. Bashir Al-Hammadi, Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Science and Technology, presented a paper addressing the most prominent difficulties and challenges facing young people today, reviewing a number of available opportunities to address their situations. For his part, Dr. Nasr Al-Saqqaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology, spoke about the importance of using digitalization in daily life and job creation. In his presentation, he offered several key tips on how to leverage the vast online marketplace through e-marketing techniques, and how this can help young people cope with life's challenges and secure livelihoods, as well as empower them in the job market. The workshop featured a number of experiences and success stories of young people who faced life’s challenges and created job opportunities for themselves through the digital world. At the conclusion of the workshop, the workshop's recommendations were presented, which focused on the need to enhance job opportunities for Yemeni youth in light of the realities of this digital age in which we live. The workshop was attended by Dr. Muammar Al-Qutaibi, Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs, a number of deans of colleges, heads of departments and faculty members of the university, as well as a number of those in charge of Yemen Information Center. #University_of_Science_and_Technology_Center_President_Aden
