The University of Science and Technology – Aden participated in the Second International Conference on “Universities and Artificial Intelligence Technology”, organized by the Association of Arab Universities in cooperation with the Association of Chinese Universities, in the Jordanian capital, Amman, during the period from 18-19 October 2025, with a distinguished scientific research paper entitled: “Enhancing AI-Driven Recommendation Systems for University Major Selection Using Machine Learning” (Enhancing AI-powered recommendation systems for university major selection using machine learning). The paper was presented by researcher Yusra Abdullah Aliwa, from the University of Science and Technology - Aden, in collaboration with Professor Dr. Muhammad Fadl Al-Badawi and Dr. Nasr Al-Saqqaf. This participation comes as part of the university's efforts to support scientific research and adopt artificial intelligence technologies in the service of education and academic guidance. The study focused on developing an intelligent recommendation system that helps high school students choose the most suitable university major based on academic performance and labor market indicators, using the Random Forest algorithm. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.5%, making it one of the most accurate models in the field of educational predictions. The researcher pointed out that this project is the first AI-powered recommendation system in Yemen, specifically designed to serve university students, and aims to bridge the gap between education and the labor market through scientific tools based on data and intelligent analysis. The participants expressed their pride in representing the University of Science and Technology at this Arab scientific forum, stressing the university’s keenness to enhance its research and regional presence through active participation in international conferences, in line with modern trends in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation. It is worth mentioning that this international conference comes as an extension of the success achieved by its first edition, which witnessed broad participation from researchers, the discussion of more than 60 research papers from 16 Arab and foreign countries, and the review by Arab universities of their projects in this field in the accompanying exhibition.
