Professor Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, President of the University of Science and Technology – Aden, receives the shield for the university's achievement of ranking 25th in the Arab world at the ceremony honoring Arab universities in Saudi Arabia.

The President of the University of Science and Technology – Aden, Professor Dr. Abdul Ghani Hamid Ahmed, received the university’s shield of honor for ranking twenty-fifth in the Arab world and first among private universities in Yemen in the Arab University Ranking for the year 2024 AD, at a joyous ceremony organized by King Khalid University in cooperation with the Association of Arab Universities, in the city of Abha, Saudi Arabia, on the evening of Sunday, February 9, 2025 AD. The ceremony honoring the Arab universities included in the Arab University Ranking was held under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of the Asir Region and Chairman of its Development Authority, and in the presence of representatives of the Association of Arab Universities, and the heads of a large number of Arab universities and academic institutions. The University of Science and Technology – Aden’s achievement of ranking twenty-fifth in the Arab world and first among private universities in Yemen in the Arab University Ranking for the year 2024 adds to its record of achievements, as it has previously topped a number of university rankings, thus achieving a distinguished position in the context of its tireless pursuit of leadership and excellence. In conjunction with this honoring ceremony, King Khalid University is organizing the “Universities and Sustainable Development” forum, which will be held on Monday and Tuesday, February 10 and 11, and aims, through its scientific and dialogue sessions, to discuss the roles of Arab universities in achieving sustainable development.
