Organizing an introductory scientific seminar entitled: “Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology: Your Gateway to the World of Modern Medicine” As part of the University of Science and Technology – Main Center Aden’s efforts to promote academic and professional awareness among students, the Department of Health Sciences at the university, represented by the Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology Program, organized on Saturday, August 2, 2025, an introductory scientific seminar entitled: “Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology: Your Gateway to the World of Modern Medicine,” presented by Dr. Wafaa Al-Ayashi, a consultant in diagnostic radiology. The seminar was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Student Affairs, Dr. Muammar Al-Qutaibi, the Head of the Department of Health Sciences, Dr. Nazih Al-Abd, faculty members of the department, and a group of students interested in the fields of medical sciences. The seminar began with a speech by the Assistant President of the University, Dr. Muammar Al-Qutaibi, in which he welcomed the students, stressing the university’s continued support for them, and giving them a number of tips that would help them excel in their academic journey, urging them to be diligent and hardworking. Following that, a comprehensive introductory presentation on the field of radiology and medical imaging was given, highlighting the vital and pivotal role of radiology in diagnosis, treatment and medical intervention, as an indispensable tool in modern medicine, combining advanced technology and clinical expertise to provide accurate and safe healthcare. The different types of radiation were also reviewed, including X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, PET scan, and other modern technologies used in multiple medical fields. The seminar also included a detailed presentation of the university's Bachelor of Science in Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology program, covering the curriculum, skills acquired, learning outcomes, and future career opportunities in both the public and private sectors. Attendees showed significant engagement with the presentation, and numerous questions were raised, reflecting students' interest in the specialization and its career prospects. At the conclusion of the seminar, the students were taken on an introductory tour to the university’s radiology and medical imaging laboratory, where they learned firsthand about the equipment and devices used in practical training, and the mechanisms of learning and application within the educational environment equipped with the latest technologies. This seminar comes as part of the scientific department’s efforts to promote awareness of applied medical science specializations, and to encourage students to choose educational and professional paths that keep pace with developments in the health sector and the needs of the labor market. #University_of_Science_and_Technology
