As part of its series of orientation courses for high school and university students, it is holding a new training course on how to choose a university major.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the University of Science and Technology – Main Center Aden held a training course entitled: “How to Choose Your University Major?” presented by Professor Saeeda Khalid Marzouq, a student guidance specialist at the university. The course aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to choose the appropriate university major, based on their personal inclinations, academic abilities, and labor market needs, with an emphasis on the importance of making a conscious decision based on accurate information and real-life experiences. The course covered introducing students to the basic concepts of choosing a university major, and the importance of this stage in building a professional future. It also reviewed the factors affecting decision-making, such as: inclinations, abilities, values, and available opportunities, and addressed labor market requirements and the skills required in various fields. The course also provided professional tools and tests to help students identify the appropriate specialization for them, in addition to correcting common misconceptions when choosing a specialization, such as relying solely on the wishes of friends or prevailing trends, while encouraging students to research and consult before making a final decision. The course was characterized by an interactive approach through demonstrations, group activities, and real case studies, which contributed to delivering information in an enjoyable and practical way. At the end of the course, the students expressed their great benefit from the course content, stressing that this experience contributed to clarifying their vision for their academic and professional future, and they thanked the university and the trainer. #University_of_Science_and_Technology
